What kind of business should I start? It’s a question that I hear several times per week. So many midlife moms are ready to make that shift in their lives towards financial and time freedom. But, they don’t know where to start.
When I quit my job six years ago, I didn’t really have a plan. In fact, I had no idea how much of an impact losing my income would have on our household. Then, my first payday came and went without a paycheck.
I learned quickly that I needed to be making money without going to a job. I started doing a few side-hustles here and there to get some money coming in right away. And, I set out getting my business started.
I didn’t know exactly what my business would be. And, I didn’t really know what I would sell. But, I knew that I had to figure it out.
Looking back, it would have saved me so much time and frustration if I had found someone who could help me answer the million dollar question “what kind of business should I start?”
I went through a lot of different iterations of my business before I found the one that really stuck.
I think it’s natural for a business to change as it grows. But, it’s a whole other beast when the business is changing within a few months of starting.
Change can be hard.
When your business is changing because the work doesn’t fill you up, change can feel like failure. And, that feeling is defeating.
